Weekly Update

I can't believe that I've gone from updating almost daily to this! I've been super busy and things over all have been going great but......

I learned late yesterday that one of my students was hit by a car and is in serious condition. From what I've heard it seems that he ran out into the street from between two parked cars, right into the path of a car. He was airlifted to the hospital with a head injury so I am quite worried. I doubt I'll learn more before I go back to work on Tuesday.

Last weekend was the regional Road-eo. It was different being there as a team leader rather than as a contestant. Our team did well and we had a great time.

I've spent a lot of time taking pictures of bus exits and controls for a display board for the Build the Bus fund raiser. I've spent hours working on putting together backpack tags and thanks to my coworkers they are now done. Less than a week to go and then hopefully things will get back to normal.

I took Friday afternoon off to see my brother's family. My niece graduated from Clark University in Worcester, MA and they stopped at Country Girls for a few days on their way home to Texas. My nephew is on summer break from Embry-Riddle University so we were able to see everyone and had a nice day visiting and catching up.

Yesterday we spent the day at BJ's for Alex's birthday party. Any spare time has been spent in the garden. So I'm not only exhausted, I'm a bit sore too. :-)

  1. It's no wonder you haven't had much time for blogging...sheesh! How very sad to hear about that little boy...so many accidents happen that way, with the children running out on the road in between parked cars! I do pray he'll recover fully!! xox

  2. You have been busy! So sad about the child being hit by a car. You must worry about that a lot when driving a bus where children tend to dart here and there..

  3. I hope that the young boy is OK. Kids don't realise that it only takes a moment of inattention for everything to change.

Don't worry about not being able to blog every day. The great thing about being subscribed to your blog is that no matter how often you post I always get to read what you have to say.

  4. Sometimes life gets really busy and we need more hours in the day...but there's always the same amount....imagine that! I can't fit everything in either at the moment, but it's good to be able to catch up with each other when we can.
What a horrible accident. I hope the poor little fellow will be OK. His poor family!
Love the picture of your team :)
We got that rain storm around 5:30 this evening, and have just had another cloud burst around 7:30. It smells so good, and yes, we need it.

  5. So awful about the little boy...I hope he is doing OK.

Loved the pictures, and sitting around that front porch looks so inviting! I almost expect Andy or Opie to be there! (I say this with respect, since it's one of my favorite old shows.)

    Happy Memorial Day, Apple!
