New G**gle Feature

Yesterday I went to work for a couple of hours but then had to leave for jury duty. I wasn't selected for the jury so today was my first full day cleaning buses. Eight hours scrubbing everything from the ceiling to the floor. Needless to say I was very tired when I got home. I thought I'd relax and catch up on some blogs.

I've mentioned before that I use my G**gle home page to manage my feeds. They recently added more tabs which I liked because I like to organize. Today, however, I was not in the mood for a change. There were extra x's to the right of each post. I clicked and the entire post appeared! So of course I had to check by clicking on one of my blogs. Humph! Only part of the post shows. I played with several. Mine and a couple of others only showed partial post but the rest show the entire post, one even showed the comments. Why some were different than others I have no idea. I went to another page and when I went back to my home page it looked like it always had, the new little x's were gone! And later they were back so I got some screen captures. I think this will be a great way to check quickly to see if the post is something I've already read or not. I also like that I can have two blogs open side by side. If blogger A post a picture of plant Z and blogger B posts a picture of the same or similar plant I can have them open side by side. It will also be great for working back and forth between genealogy blogs.

  1. Hi Apple:-) I'm back from my trip and trying to catch up with everyone! I can't wait to see the newest Potter movie but will probably wait until it's available on dvd. I don't use Google for my feeds, I use Bloglines but it was fun to see what the Google one looks like! I'm so used to Bloglines but might give Google a try one day:-) xox

  2. My goggle reader looks entirely different from this! Wonder if I have an older version or something. I've only been using it instead of bloglines for a couple weeks now..

  3. The google reader is different than a google homepage. With the homepage I can also pick items other than blog feeds to appear on the page. News, games and various widgets.

  4. I am really going to have to look into this! I've been hearing so much about them, and I tend to be the last to jump on the bandwagon with almost everything! ;)

If you like to read inspirational fiction, I'm doing a little giveaway right now...:)

  5. Hey, that looks really cool and fun too. (Some of those bugs look slightly familiar.) Sometimes I feel really computer illiterate. Maybe some day I'll catch up with those things too.

  6. You're such a techie Apple! You seem to be very computor savvy...or at the very least much more curious to try things than a lot of us. I should check out Google. Like Pea, I use Bloglines and am happy with it, so haven't even looked at Google Reader.
You must be a busy gal! Washing buses would certainly wear me out.
We've just finished our week of VBS so I'm catching up on some blog reading.
Cloudy here today. The rain has been welcome, but now that I have time to garden I'm missing the sunshine. Never happy!
I hope to get around to reading Harry Potter and seeing the movies one of these days. I've read the first book and loved it but I don't think I've seen an entire movie yet...just parts here and there.
Thanks for the happy birthday wishes :)

  7. Apple, I'm glad you explained that Google Home Page is different than Google Reader. I was going to say mine looks nothing like that! But I really like it anyway, saves a lot of searching. Good heavens, woman, take a rest from those buses!
