Surprise Three Day Weekend + Updates

We closed today due to bitterly cold windchills. Up north at Country Girl's and on the Tug Hill they had been getting hammered with snow all weekend. It has shifted south throughout the morning and the heavy stuff has just arrived here, so I'm doubly glad that we closed today. It looks like all the school districts in the area closed.

Pictures taken through windows never turn out great but there is no way I'm going out there if I don't have to! The falling snow really doesn't show up well, but trust me, since we've been "in the yellow" it has been coming down hard.

I don't know why I've bothered to add pictures the last few days - blogger is only showing some of them and which ones show change everytime I refresh a page!
Grrrrrrrrr

Update 4:00PM - It has snowed all day at rates between 2" & 3" per hour. John had to shovel out to the pole so he could plug-in the snowblower; it's so cold it wouldn't start by pull.

Update 5:00 PM John's still working on the driveway. The snow has let up a lot. This is the current Weather Alert:

..LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST
TUESDAY...

THUNDER. ONE TO TWO FEET OF NEW SNOW IS EXPECTED TO FALL TONIGHT

  3. We closed today, too, but no snow, only wind. It will be just as cold tomorrow, but at the PTL meeting, the principal said they would be open. What's the difference!?
    Please stay safe!

  5. I see you're getting a second day off today. I know you'll enjoy having some free time. I will! Goodness it was cold outside yesteday! I so much wanted to stays indoors but our school (and all others close by) was open.
We had one boy without a coat..in a T-shirt! Can you believe it? His excuse? He ripped his coat. He had to put on a coat from the nurse's office before he was allowed to leave the building yesterday afternoon.
I hope blogger settles down soon in regard to the pictures coming and going. How do you post yours?
