Too much work makes for dull posts. We have a big safety fair / treat or treat event coming up at work and as chairman it has taken over my life at the moment. Most days I can't walk into the garage without two or three people needing just a minute to speak with me. Which is actually a good thing because it's wonderful to see my coworkers so enthusiastic. Things are coming together and I hope we have good weather so we get a good turn out.
I don't know if it is stress or just rotten timing but "the change" has been hitting me hard the last two weeks. I'm up half the night throwing the covers on and off and I'm driving the kids at work crazy turning the heat on and off. The hormone swings are driving me nuts too. One minute I'm up and the next I'm a weepy mess. Don't let anyone tell you that men don't go through the change too, John's been suffering right along with me!
We had the kids over Monday and we were both exhausted from the lack of sleep. I had picked up some stickers for them to color and they all did a few. Liz loved them so much that she stayed right at the kitchen table the whole evening working on them. The other three worked on hidden pictures and watched a movie. As good as they were this week, John and I were both so tired that we both fell asleep in our chairs shortly after they left.
We've had a few fall like days but the weather has warmed back up. I have a whole list of things I'd like to get done in the garden and I'm trying to get a little here and there. I opted not to work this weekend, hoping that I can get caught up both inside and out.

I feel for you Apple. Those turbo charges are no fun and the lack of sleep is debilitating. I wish there was an easy solution, but no such luck.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon (and John too:).
Lucky you to have the kids over weekly.
I still have a whole list of things to get done in the garden too....I'm working on it!
I think our leaves may have reached their peak on Friday. We're seeing some glorious color while driving the roads around here at the moment.
Apple, I always thought there would be a magic pill that would take care of these problems by the time we had them, but no such thing! My electric fan on my desk at work is always at the ready, and in the winter, I just slide open the window above my bed at night when I'm sleeping. Sometimes those 32 degrees feel great! Sounds like you had a great time with the kids. Hmm, hidden pictures - I'll have to see if I can find some of those for the grands!
