More Whining

You ever have one of those days? I'm having one today.

The weather of the past few days has really gotten to me. The stress of all the snow and not being much help to John. The thermostat hasn't been working right so I've been worried about the amount of kerosene we're using. We have plenty. We know that now that we've shoveled off the tank.

School was open and on time this morning and the weather really wasn't bad when we started. It went downhill fast! Boss man gave me a cigarette between runs and I bought a pack on the way home. John is not happy with me. Now I have to quit all over again. I hate myself sometimes.

We had our water tank replaced a couple of weeks ago but something still isn't quite right with it. Thankfully it was moved into the house from the crawl space. The guy that put it in is supposed to come look at it this afternoon - if he can get caught up with his plowing. John took his car in for inspection this morning and of course it failed. It will take a couple of days for them to get the $100+ part that it needs and then we have to home it passes the emissions test.

It is still bitterly cold but John got out there and finished raking the roof this morning. Then he went to clear the fresh snow out of the driveway. The snowblower didn't want to go into any gear other than reverse! We just bought the #$*&^ thing last winter!!!! The repair shop 1/2 mile down the road can't pick it up until FRIDAY afternoon to work on it Monday. He called someone else who could probably pick it up tomorrow but he has four others to work on 1st. I guess we'll have to go with him.

They're predicting another 6-12" here this afternoon (but it looks like maybe less) and another 6-12" overnight.

Thanks for listening ;)

  1. I know how you feel with the cold and snow...our winters here in Northern Ontario are so long and stress/depression is a major factor because of it. You are certainly getting more than your fair share of the snow!

My friend Steve is also trying to quit smoking...it's only the second day for him, though. He was a very heavy smoker for over 30 years so he's got a rough road ahead of him.

Thanks so much for letting me know about my link....that's what happens when you try to prepare your post at 1 a.m.! lol

    Hugs xox

  2. Ross and I have been following the weather up there and we totally sympathize with you. You've got a lot on your plate already, being responsible for the safety of all those kids. With so many things going wrong, it's no wonder you turned back to cigarettes. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's not an easy thing to do (quitting). You'll be OK...just take it a day at a time. You have a strong will, and I know you can quit. Just be patient with yourself and don't beat yourself up after one slip.
I you get the snowblower fixed soon and better yet, that the snow stops coming down.
We haven't really had much here. But the cold wind has been really vicious.
Keep the faith!! Sending a hug to help get you through ((hug))

  4. You are always given another chance, Dear Apple. You have to stop smoking before you can quit smoking. Just one disaster at a time, you can make it. Remember to reward yourself, if it's this difficult, (and I know it is), you must have a reward. Do you drink special coffee? Stop and get one. Do you like special lotion? Think, Apple, about what you can replace smoking with, honey. The cost is nothing compared to what 30 years of smoking costs. But you must replace the smoking with a healthier reward. Tell that boss that you don't want any more cigarettes. That is no help, that guy!!
Take it easy, you are worth it!!
